We fell in love with magical Patzcuaro in Michoacan, Mexico.
So in 2004 we renovated an abandoned house from which to enjoy this colonial pueblo with its Purhepecha Indian presence.

Un Taco de Ojos
When this young man was introduced to a Pátzcuaro dama she exclaimed, "¡Es un taco de ojos!" (a taco for the eyes). I love this Mexican expression for good-looking, a hunk... Mexicanos wax poetic about their favorite kinds of tacos and taquitos so the metaphor is a supreme and piquant compliment.
My friend Ale was bemoaning the fact that no tacos de ojos are sold in Guaymas. She has to go all the way to Hermosillo to buy them and they're her favorite. I had to ask: if you open one up, do you see a cow's eyes staring mournfully up at you? Never mind, I don't really want to know.

The difference between a feast for the eyes and feasting on eyes is worthy of note.
